We just completed a very busy training weekend. Darlene had to be away and it just wasn't the same without her. At 7 am on Saturday we all looked skyward as her plane left Tampa! And we stretched and stretched...in her honor.

We walked 11 miles on Saturday and 5 miles on Sunday. Everyone seemed to do well on the long walk. I have a blister to show for it, but I didn't even know I had one until I got home, so obviously it wasn't really bad. I noticed it a bit on Sunday and will have to be mindful of that spot in the future.

Bonni again served as our pit crew and her husband Bill came out to help her later in the morning. We were really happy to see her twice along the way.

We walked a new route with many turns through shady residential streets. Not everyone walked the same way, but we managed to get our miles in.

On Sunday we did the Ringling Bridge walk - turning around at the 2.5 marker. It was a beautiful sunny morning and we were all in our cars on our way home by 9 AM.

Each weekend we will be adding more mileage. By August I'm sure our Saturdays and Sundays will be entirely devoted to training...but I know it will payoff in October! AT least I hope so!!!
